Dolphins Dash Meet Update
08 Oct 2023
Today we took 20 boys and 23 girls to inaugural Clitheroe Dolphin Dash Gala in Darwen. Over 22 Events and 204 individual races, our team brought back hundreds of medals and an absolutely mind-blowing 132 Personal Bests. This is a real testament to the hard work, effort and dedication that all of our athletes have put into their training, and also to the Coaches who have planned, prepared and coached them to develop and become the Best They Can Be.
From our youngest swimmers who were attending their first Swimming Gala to our seasoned older swimmers, everyone worked hard and supported each other in an outstanding way. Well done ALL of you. You made all of your coaches and your parents so proud.
At the end of the Gala, one of the hosts came to talk to me and he said that from what he'd seen, our club was really special. He said that we'd stood out in the way that we all supported each other from the coaches and swimmers poolside, to our parents watching in the stand. In fact, our Swim Team stood out so much that we were awarded the Trophy for best supported visiting club. An achievement that everyone played a part in winning, and was collected by our Club Captains, Eva and Alex.
I'd like to offer my personal thanks to Sarah, Fionnuala and Cathryn, our Team Managers for looking after our team so well, getting them to marshalling and cheering us on from above; to Matt, Sam, Dan, our Coaches and to Louise, Mei, Eleanor and Celia for helping to support the Gala as officials. None of this can happen without support from our parents, so if you want to be part of our team too, come and ask about how to get involved.
